About the Role
Forbes Advisor is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own technical product initiatives, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and ready for future needs. This role involves translating strategic goals into technical reality, shaping architecture, capabilities, and tooling to enhance team efficiency and deliver measurable value. The ideal candidate will manage the full development lifecycle, from requirements to optimization, ensuring robust and extensible solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for technical initiatives, aligning with business goals, innovation, and technical capacity.
- Build and maintain a prioritized, transparent backlog reflecting evolving business needs and technical delivery realities.
- Lead the development lifecycle for technical product initiatives, from requirements gathering through delivery and optimization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate strategic goals into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate complex business needs into detailed technical specifications and user stories for engineering teams.
- Shape platform architecture, prioritize infrastructure improvements, and ensure systems are secure, scalable, and extensible in collaboration with technical leads.
- Define internal processes and documentation standards for repeatable, scalable technical delivery.
- Partner with Data and Analytics to identify opportunities for AI, automation, or intelligent tooling to enhance workflows and user experience.
- Evaluate AI/automation use cases for feasibility, technical constraints, and ROI, and implement the strongest solutions.
- Serve as the communication bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment on product vision, delivery status, and technical trade-offs.
- Act as the central point of contact for initiatives, aligning senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams on shared outcomes.
Requirements
- 4+ years in technical product management or a related role, preferably in platform or infrastructure.
- Proven ability to translate complex business problems into clear technical requirements and product plans.
- Strong grasp of APIs, data pipelines, platform architecture, and modern development practices.
- Comfortable working closely with engineering teams and participating in technical discussions.
- Experience evaluating the business value and feasibility of AI, automation, and analytics-driven solutions.
- Exemplary communication and stakeholder skills, with a proven ability to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Data-driven, curious, and proactive with a practical mindset focused on delivering value through iterative, testable solutions.
- Willingness to be hands-on in a fast-moving, expanding team.
