About the Role
ICE Data Services is seeking a Principal Connectivity Product Manager to join the ICE Global Network (IGN) product team in London. This role involves acting as the technical architect for bespoke connectivity solutions, assessing feasibility, designing, and evaluating commercial viability for non-standard use cases. You will be a key liaison between network engineering, data center, PMO, sales, and clients, driving technical and commercial success in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the EMEA ecosystem and IGN connectivity network solutions, managing the global offering.
- Partner with Sales Engineering to scope non-standard requests and product deviations.
- Assess technical feasibility and high-level design options with Network Engineering.
- Evaluate commercial, delivery, and support impacts.
- Provide go/no-go recommendations and support approved solutions through implementation.
- Supervise network-related initiatives, projects, and product launches, reporting timelines and escalating issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including network engineering teams.
- Monitor and build knowledge about network solutions and infrastructures to identify opportunities and risks.
- Identify new solutions or enhancements and bring them to market.
- Work with engineering on new technical solutions (high-level design) and associated costs.
- Build business cases with full P&L and present to senior management.
- Lead the go-to-market plan and supervise the launch if approved.
- Validate the technical solution with engineering (low-level design).
- Define the product and work on commercial strategy and pricing.
- Join project steering committees and report key information to senior management.
- Deliver collateral documents (internal/external) and train Sales and pre-sales teams.
- Work with marketing on press releases, social media, and campaigns.
- Supervise the launch and work closely with Sales to analyze feedback and manage adjustments.
- Establish KPIs to measure success and performance of new products, and report KPIs to senior management.
- Meet with IGN customers during QBR-type events to capture, analyze, and transmit feedback.
- Build business cases when opportunities arise.
- Walk customers through IGN initiatives and roadmap.
Requirements
- University degree, preferably in technology or engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in a product role or as a technical expert (network engineer) dealing with financial network services or related sectors.
- Experience working for a trading venue, financial market service provider, or trading firm.
- Experience and exposure to market participants, exchanges, and alternative trading systems.
- Experience and exposure to market data and order entry protocols.
- Experience and exposure to electronic and algorithmic trading technologies and trading strategies.
- Hands-on experience producing high-level and low-level network designs.
- Direct exposure to non-standard or bespoke connectivity delivery.
- Familiarity with cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect) if relevant.
- Solid understanding of trading venue infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications/networks (lower layers of OSI model, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols and solutions).
