About the Role
We are seeking US Immigration professionals for our Consular & Document Practice team, considering candidates at both Consultant and Senior Consultant levels based on skills and experience. The role involves managing a caseload of US immigration matters, reviewing and preparing forms, support letters, and Firm correspondence, while maintaining accurate case files. Responsibilities may include overseeing junior team members, contributing to projects, billing, onboarding, process improvements, and supporting Managers and Attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the team and provide guidance with respect to US immigration including mentoring and training team members.
- Be involved in ongoing training and assist when new client protocols need to be implemented.
- Perform intake of cases once assigned and ensure case is correctly set up on Connect.
- Preparation of petition-based US immigration matters including family and business immigration cases, including legal drafting.
- Preparation of US consular cases, including non-immigrant and immigrant visa matters.
- Maintain client contact information.
- Keep Associates aware of the progress of matters to manage expectations, and inform of conflicting priorities/requesting assistance as problems arise / informing of current capacity.
- Provide coverage to other Consultants on an on-going basis to ensure that case work is covered during absence periods.
- Take on additional projects as required.
Requirements
- Previous US immigration experience and a strong background in a client facing role.
- Team leadership/overseeing more junior team members.
- Ability to follow the instructions of senior members of staff.
- Develop strong working relationships with team members and gain their confidence through displaying professionalism and efficiency in all communications.
- Able to plan workload often with conflicting deadlines, able to meet deadlines and priorities for own work, considering delivery expectations and agreed client service standards.
- Accurate work style; focus on details.
- Implement effective processes to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates proficiency in word processing, Internet and email systems.
- Successful completion of the Firm’s pre-employment screening process, including identity verification, legal authorization to work, and background check.
