About the Role

LendingTree is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Insurance technology team. This role involves building, enhancing, and supporting web applications for customers and internal teams, contributing to new capabilities and improving existing codebases. The engineer will partner with teammates and the business to understand requirements, solve technical problems, and deliver reliable software. The team primarily uses C#/.NET and modern web technologies, but is open to engineers with strong fundamentals eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance scalable, maintainable web applications supporting LendingTree's Insurance business, including integrations with third-party web services, databases, and user-facing interfaces.
  • Support existing applications through troubleshooting, bug fixes, upgrades, performance improvements, and functionality changes.
  • Break down business and technical problems and contribute to reliable, practical, and maintainable solutions.
  • Translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into well-designed technical solutions and demonstrate completed features.
  • Contribute to strong engineering practices through code reviews, testing, documentation, design discussions, and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with teammates and business partners on shared initiatives, clearly communicating technical ideas, questions, and tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting web applications.
  • Experience with a modern object-oriented programming language and web development framework (C# and .NET/ASP.NET preferred, comparable technologies acceptable).
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) or ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience building business applications using relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and familiarity with database design and data access patterns.
  • Experience building and integrating with service-oriented and event-driven systems, including APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices (maintainable design, SOLID principles, design patterns, code review, unit testing).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Exposure to AI technologies and tools, with an understanding of their application to technical processes and business outcomes.
  • Ability to understand business logic and project requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
