About the Role
As a Staff Engineer - ML training and infrastructure, you will be a member of the Perception team at Rivian, developing advanced machine learning algorithms that impact safety-critical self-driving features. We seek candidates with deep knowledge and enthusiasm for establishing state-of-the-art ML infrastructure for training and inference of large autonomous driving models, and optimizing performance.
Responsibilities
- Optimize the performance of Deep Learning training workload on NVIDIA GPU systems at scale.
- Optimize the latency of model inference and model pre- and post-processing on onboard systems.
- Design, train, and deploy large deep learning models leveraging vast amounts of data.
- Define cross-team technical strategies, coding paradigms, and engineering best practices.
- Benchmark and introduce modern technical tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns.
Requirements
- PhD in CS/CE/EE, or equivalent industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge of transformer architecture and acceleration techniques.
- Experience performing large-scale distributed training of models.
- Proven track record of profiling models and improving training and inference speed.
