About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Lead to build and own the finance function at deeploi. With a proven product, more than 200 customers and a growing SaaS offering, we are focused on sustainable growth and a clear path to profitability. Reporting directly to the CEO, you take end-to-end ownership of finance, from planning and controlling to customer billing and investor reporting. You will bring finance tasks in-house and build the necessary structures for our next chapter.
Responsibilities
- Own planning & controlling, including business plan, financial models, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and scenario analyses, updated with monthly closing data.
- Steer performance by creating visibility on targets, flagging risks and deviations, and translating numbers into decisions.
- Own customer billing, ensuring invoices are complete, accurate, and on time, and reconciling usage data, billing metrics, and charges.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering on billing logic and data discrepancies, automate billing workflows around Stripe, and translate technical issues into business implications.
- Bring finance in-house by taking over planning and reporting from external providers and continuously improving finance processes and reporting structures.
- Coordinate accounting & investor reporting, including preparatory bookkeeping, collaboration with external tax advisors, preparing quarterly investor reports, and supporting adjacent legal and administrative topics.
Requirements
- 4 to 5+ years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or a comparable finance role, ideally with around two years in an established startup finance team.
- Strong skills in business planning, financial modelling, budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Practical understanding of customer billing, reconciliation, and preparatory bookkeeping.
- Ability to own finance end to end as the most senior finance professional, working independently, prioritizing well, and improving processes pragmatically.
- High diligence and numerical accuracy across planning, reporting, and operational finance.
- Clear, approachable communication skills to translate financial and technical complexity into business implications and collaborate with CEO, Product, Engineering, and external advisors.
- Comfortable in a company in transition with evolving priorities and a broad scope.
- Fluent German (C1 or higher) and good English.
- Readiness to be in the office at least three days a week.
