Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the performance, availability, degradation, cycle counts, and operational health of utility-scale BESS assets.

  • Work with route-to-market providers and optimisers to monitor and improve commercial performance across German balancing and wholesale markets.
  • Support and oversee optimiser, O&M, OEM, EPC, and other service provider contracts, ensuring obligations and KPIs are met.
  • Review invoices, manage budget inputs, support OPEX/CAPEX tracking, and contribute to cost and revenue forecasting.
  • Maintain warranty registers, monitor warranty periods, coordinate claims, and manage related documentation.
  • Support commissioning, control system setup, EMS/software integration, data validation, testing, and handover into operations.
  • Track relevant German and EU regulatory developments, including BNetzA, TSO/DSO requirements, EEX, grid codes, and market rule changes.

Requirements

  • Experience managing or supporting operational energy assets, ideally in Germany or another European power market.
  • Understanding of battery systems, lithium-ion technology, inverters, BMS, EMS/SCADA, grid connections, and asset performance metrics.
  • Commercial exposure to energy markets, route-to-market arrangements, optimisation, balancing markets, intraday/day-ahead trading, or asset revenue management.
  • Familiarity with German energy market structures, TSOs, DSOs, BNetzA, EEX, grid codes, and ancillary service products.
  • Experience working with data tools such as PowerBI, SQL, Excel, or similar platforms.
