About the Role
CuspAI is seeking a Partnerships Manager to build relationships and lead materials design engagements with potential partners in Europe. This role offers the opportunity to shape the company's go-to-market strategy and partnerships from day one in an early-stage, high-growth environment focused on solving trillion-dollar materials problems using AI.
Responsibilities
- Identify and reach R&D, materials, and chemicals teams at US industrial companies that can benefit from direct access to our AI and data.
- Own the pipeline end to end, from the first conversation to a signed agreement.
- Use network and market knowledge to open doors in key innovation hubs.
- Understand each team's materials challenges and turn them into clear, compelling proposals with scientists and Technical Program Managers.
- Negotiate commercial terms and bring agreements to signature.
- Turn first engagements into lasting relationships and identify opportunities for expanded collaboration.
- Help decide which customer types and sectors to focus on first.
- Communicate market feedback to product, research, and leadership teams.
- Assist in building processes, materials, and a playbook for the wider team.
- Represent CuspAI at industry events and conferences.
Requirements
- Experience selling to or partnering with R&D, chemicals, or materials organizations.
- Enjoy building something new more than running an established process.
- 8+ years in partnerships, business development, or sales roles targeting industrial R&D, materials, chemicals, or semiconductor organizations.
- Experience introducing digital R&D tools (e.g., materials informatics, ELN, LIMS, simulation software) to scientific teams.
- Proven track record of sourcing and closing B2B deals with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
- A network among R&D and business leaders at US industrial companies.
- Ability to clearly explain AI and computational concepts to both scientists and business leaders.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a drive to build structure in a fast-growing startup.
