About the Role

The Head of Pricing, Japan will be primarily responsible for pricing, basis development, and treaty drafting for Japan. This role involves managing a team and close collaboration with Business Development, Product Development, Underwriting, Regional Pricing, and senior management.

Responsibilities

Supervise all team activities to ensure timely completion of pricing quotations, treaties, and pricing bases.
Manage team performance.
Provide sound actuarial advice to support business growth.
Ensure compliance with Corporate and International Pricing Standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Business Development, ensuring client needs are met and all parties are informed of quotation and treaty status.
Allocate work effectively.
Respond promptly to requests from Regional Actuaries.
Participate in strategy development for the Pricing and Product Development team.
Build working relationships with counterparts at client companies.

Requirements

Ability to travel internationally for 2-3 day durations, 4 times per year.
Asian language skills are desirable.
Knowledge of Asian life insurance markets and product lines is highly regarded.
Solid understanding of various Individual life insurance products.
Strong client service focus.
Leadership skills.
Highly organized, delivery-oriented with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Advanced MS Office suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
Highly motivated, results oriented and solutions focused.
Innovative, proactive and improvement oriented.
Strong attention to detail.
