About the Role

A full-service branded hotel on Long Island is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead daily housekeeping operations, strengthen team performance, and maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and guest comfort. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who is visible throughout the hotel, takes pride in the details, and builds a team that consistently delivers clean, well-maintained, guest-ready rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, public areas, and laundry, ensuring compliance with brand cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and hold team members accountable for quality, productivity, and service.
  • Conduct daily room and public-area inspections; address deficiencies and verify corrective action.
  • Coordinate with Front Office to prioritize room assignments, manage room readiness, and support timely check-in.
  • Partner with Engineering to identify maintenance concerns, track repairs, and ensure rooms return to service in appropriate condition.
  • Monitor guest feedback and cleanliness scores; identify recurring issues and implement measurable improvements.
  • Manage staffing, labor costs, overtime, and productivity based on occupancy and operational needs.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and controls for linens, amenities, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee deep-cleaning schedules and reinforce safe chemical handling, equipment use, and workplace practices.
  • Ensure clear shift handoffs and prompt follow-through on guest requests, lost and found, and operational concerns.

Requirements

  • Previous Housekeeping Manager experience, or substantial Assistant Housekeeping Manager experience, in a full-service branded hotel.
  • Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, or comparable major-brand experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading housekeeping teams and maintaining strong cleanliness and inspection results.
  • Strong knowledge of room inspections, labor planning, inventory controls, and housekeeping productivity standards.
  • Ability to train effectively, address performance concerns, and build consistent accountability.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a high-volume hotel and union environment is a plus.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
