About the Role
Altana is building an AI-powered product network to create a more resilient and secure global economy. The Engineering team is responsible for developing this platform, which is complex, AI-driven, and scales to massive data volumes and a diverse customer base. This role involves a customer-centric approach, treating releases as hypotheses, and owning products end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Spend real time with customers, observe their workflows, and translate learnings into product bets.
- Partner with the product team to define product strategy and design experiments to validate customer value.
- Take new product surfaces from conception to launch and drive adoption.
- Build AI-native features using LLMs, agents, evals, and retrieval.
- Own end-to-end outcomes, including architecture, instrumentation, and post-launch telemetry.
- Set the technical bar for the team, ensuring quality, simplicity, and customer impact in designs and code.
- Mentor engineers in customer-centric and hypothesis-driven product development.
- Drive technical decision-making with a focus on shipping and iterative development.
Requirements
- Deployed production code and services to cloud-hosted environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering incremental releases from proof-of-concept to MVP to production.
- Self-starter with demonstrated experience working on large, complex problems.
- Strong engineering excellence, clean code, and knowledge-sharing practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading other engineers on complex projects.
