About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant with experience in Commerce ecosystems and technologies to join our Business Services team. This role involves working end-to-end from running assessments and diagnostics through to building roadmaps, change plans, and implementation frameworks. You will help clients navigate shifts in consumer behavior, AI-powered search, and agentic commerce, translating complex challenges into actionable strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end project delivery, from client assessments and diagnostics to identifying opportunities and building prioritized roadmaps.
  • Develop strategic recommendations across commerce transformation, AI discoverability, agentic commerce readiness, content strategy, and channel optimization.
  • Build and refine repeatable delivery methodologies from discovery through implementation planning and performance measurement.
  • Support and contribute to client workshops, co-creation sessions, and meetings, owning preparation, follow-up actions, and content delivery.
  • Translate complex commercial and technology shifts into clear, commercially grounded language for senior audiences.
  • Manage critical dependencies across client stakeholders (commerce, brand, content, SEO, IT) to ensure recommendations are implemented.
  • Collaborate with specialist teams for seamless handover and continuity across project phases.
  • Work across WPP's integrated network, connecting consulting recommendations to execution in content, CX, and commerce.
  • Contribute to practice intellectual property, including case studies, frameworks, and proposition development.
  • Support proposal development and pitch responses, shaping the presentation of capabilities and solutions.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of professional experience in a consulting, strategy, or senior operational role with significant commerce or digital marketing exposure.
  • Genuine understanding of how commerce ecosystems work, including the commercial reality beyond just the technology layer.
  • Consulting rigor: ability to structure ambiguous problems, build clear deliverables under time pressure, and present recommendations that withstand client scrutiny.
  • Working knowledge of AI discoverability (GEO, AEO, LLM-influenced search journeys, AI assistants) and their strategic implications for product discovery.
  • Strong communication skills, with comfort in presenting to senior stakeholders and translating technical findings into business language.
  • Experience working with enterprise clients, understanding the complexity of large organizations and navigating multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and long decision cycles.
  • Brand-side or client-side experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or commercial roles is ideal.
  • Experience in at least one of: CPG/FMCG, Consumer health, Automotive, Retail, Telecom is ideal.
  • Familiarity with content optimization, SEO, or digital shelf management and their disruption by generative AI is ideal.
  • Exposure to change management or enablement is ideal.
  • Hands-on curiosity with AI tools (LLMs, agentic platforms) is a plus.
  • Experience with commerce technology (Shopify, SFCC, Commercetools, PIM/DAM systems) is a plus.
