- Hire well to expand the team's capabilities.
- Stay close to the code and systems by leading technical designs.
- Review critical code paths and debug production issues with the team.
- Participate in incident response and build prototypes to drive progress.
- Partner with Security, Product, Onboarding, Risk, and product engineering teams.
- Translate competing requests into a sequenced roadmap, clearly explaining trade-offs.
- Manage the team’s delivery process, including planning, scoping, migrations, cutovers, and rollback plans.
- Provide honest status reporting on team progress.
- Improve the team’s engineering practices and operational readiness.
- Ensure the team provides reliable platform capabilities to the rest of Circle.
Requirements

- Experience designing systems that other teams build upon.
- Ability to explain important trade-offs, migration and adoption strategies, and lessons learned.
- Ability to stay close to production systems, critically read code and designs, and help debug complex issues.
- Experience designing, prototyping, reviewing, or shipping production code recently.
- Experience dealing with real-world Identity, Auth/Authz security problems and adapting designs or operating models.
