About the Role

The Wine & Spirits Customer Service & Support Specialist will act as a liaison between the operations and sales & pricing departments, supporting customers with their purchase orders, communicating with overseas offices and clients, and processing applications for rate quotes and shipment bookings within the ocean import and export of wine, beer, and spirits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare forwarding instructions and Shipping Request (SR).
• Confirm bookings and coordinate Importer Security Filing (ISF).
• Check Standard Pricing (SP) and SOPs for routing, rates, lanes, and Freight on Board (FOB) fees.
• Quote and obtain customer approval for FOB rates.
• Update/review purchase orders and communicate revisions to origin, customers, and update bookings.
• Receive and review import booking documentation from overseas agents and customers.
• Update shipment status daily with origin office regarding order readiness, pick up dates, bookings, load dates, and vessel departure.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status promptly via email or telephone.
• Manage marine insurance coverage and costs for the Wine & Spirits Shippers Association (WSSA) insurance program.
• Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations.

Requirements

• Experience in the Freight Forwarding industry.
• Experience providing rate quotes.
• Experience with ocean import and export of wine, beer, and spirits.
• Experience working with customers’ purchase orders.
• Experience communicating with overseas offices and clients.
• Experience working with reports.
• Experience processing applications for rate quotes and booking shipments.
