About the Role
Own and architect the data infrastructure for an AI-native product, processing data from over a thousand kitchens and 150 million pictures. Ensure seamless data flow from edge devices through AI models to operators, focusing on reliability, scalability, and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Own the data pipeline from ingestion to orchestration.
- Architect and upgrade product and internal data warehouses for AI tools and internal processes.
- Support building APIs and MCP servers for data access with proper control.
- Design and scale data storage, processing, and orchestration on Google Cloud Platform.
- Drive ELT and warehousing strategy, transforming raw data into insights in BigQuery using Python, SQL, and Dataform.
- Design and build APIs and MCP servers for data access.
- Collaborate with AI specialists, Software Engineers, and Data Analysts.
- Automate infrastructure as code using Terraform and containerization.
- Research and propose new tools, architectures, and AI integrations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
- Proven experience building robust data foundations from scratch.
- Leverage AI tools for coding, debugging, and automation.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Python, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong experience with API management, ELT processes, data warehousing, and BigQuery.
- Experience writing clean, scalable infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Proficiency with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience with Apache Beam and near real-time streaming architectures.
- Take ownership of built architecture and its performance.
- Communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
- Accept coaching and share successes and setbacks.
- Right to work in the Netherlands.
