About the Role

As a Retail Operations Manager for the South at SEPHORA UK, you will shape smooth, consistent, and scalable operations across a designated region of stores. You will act as a trusted partner to Store Managers, translating operational priorities into clear actions, ensuring effective implementation of tools and processes, and helping each store deliver the seamless customer experience expected. This role combines strong retail expertise with a hands-on, solution-focused approach to support daily store operations and contribute to national projects and new store openings. You will connect field and head office teams, champion continuous improvement, and provide insights to strengthen operations during SEPHORA's expansion across the UK. This role covers the South of the UK, from Birmingham downwards, excluding London.

Responsibilities

  • Support regional store performance and implement national retail operations priorities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for a defined region of stores or operational topics, providing practical support, troubleshooting, and guidance.
  • Ensure national SOPs, policies, and procedures are communicated clearly, adopted consistently, and continuously improved.
  • Partner with Store Managers to identify operational challenges, escalate issues, and drive timely solutions.
  • Support day-to-day store operations, including stockroom processes, compliance, safety routines, and operational standards.
  • Monitor field performance, identify regional trends, and share best practices to strengthen consistency across stores.
  • Support the Senior Operations Manager with new store openings, including pre-opening plans, team briefings, operational set-up, and go-live support.
  • Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and training materials for store openings.
  • Support the rollout, testing, and adoption of retail tools and omni-channel systems, gathering store feedback for improvement.
  • Assist stores with vendor relationships (e.g., cleaning, security) and issue resolution in partnership with the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Ensure stores follow correct processes for ordering supplies and managing budgets, flagging variances, risks, or inefficiencies.
  • Support the development and delivery of operational training, guidance, and materials for store teams.
  • Communicate operational updates and changes clearly to stores.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess standards, coach teams, gather feedback, and report on operational KPIs, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Highly organized, action-oriented retail operator who builds trusted relationships and enjoys turning challenges into practical solutions.
  • Experience working in a multi-site retail environment, ideally within beauty, fashion, or lifestyle.
  • Strong understanding of store operations, stock processes, customer experience, compliance, and safety.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence effectively across store and head office teams.
  • Experience supporting new store openings or delivering operational projects is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make operational updates clear, relevant, and easy to action.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • Confidence using retail tools and systems, with the ability to learn and help others adopt new digital platforms.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
