About the Role

This role within Sky’s Group Risk Investigations function is key to protecting the business, its people, assets, and reputation. As a Group Risk Investigator, you will lead trusted, thorough, and evidence-based integrity investigations into suspected unethical behavior, dishonesty, fraud, theft, misuse of company assets, criminal matters affecting the business, and complex whistleblowing concerns. You will manage your own caseload from initial assessment through to findings and recommendations, working closely with various internal departments and external partners. The role requires sound judgment, professional curiosity, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with care, confidence, and independence, offering broad exposure and the opportunity to strengthen trust, accountability, and ethical standards across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead trusted, thorough, and proportionate integrity investigations into suspected unethical behavior, dishonesty, fraud, theft, misuse of company assets, criminal matters affecting the business, and whistleblowing concerns.
  • Manage investigations end to end, from initial assessment, scoping, and planning through to evidence gathering, interviews, findings, and debriefs with senior investigators or management.
  • Gather, review, and evaluate evidence from a range of sources, maintaining accurate case files, evidential integrity, confidentiality, and system updates in line with company processes and data protection requirements.
  • Engage sensitively and professionally with investigation participants, business leaders, and stakeholders, managing expectations and handling sensitive or emotive matters with care, credibility, and discretion.
  • Produce clear, balanced, and evidence-based findings and recommendations that support informed decision-making, corrective action, risk mitigation, and stronger standards of business conduct.
  • Work collaboratively with HR Investigations, Employee Relations, Legal & Compliance, business leaders, and external partners, while contributing to shared learning, thematic insight, and continuous improvement across the team.

Requirements

  • Proven investigative background conducting corporate, law enforcement, regulatory, or similar investigations, with strong knowledge of investigative procedures.
  • Strong judgment and professional curiosity, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, identify key issues and root causes, test explanations, and reach balanced, evidence-based conclusions.
  • Assured evidence handling and analysis skills, including the ability to identify, gather, preserve, review, and analyse documentary, digital, and witness evidence while maintaining confidentiality, evidential integrity, clear audit trails, and accurate decision records.
  • Excellent communication, questioning, and report-writing skills, with the ability to conduct sensitive conversations, explain complex matters clearly, and produce structured investigation reports with clear reasoning and well-supported findings.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to manage emotive situations with care, challenge differing viewpoints constructively, and build credibility with stakeholders at different levels.
  • High levels of integrity, resilience, and discretion, with the ability to manage a varied caseload, adapt to changing priorities, handle sensitive information responsibly, and uphold data protection standards.
  • Recognised investigation qualification or accreditation, such as PIP2, ACi/CCi, or equivalent practical investigation training.
  • Practical experience using structured interviewing approaches, such as the PEACE model, to support effective witness, subject, or fact-finding interviews.
  • Experience using eDiscovery, review, or case management tools to review digital evidence sources such as emails, system records, access logs, audit trails, transaction data, or communications records.
  • Experience conducting proportionate open-source enquiries to support investigations, with an understanding of privacy, collateral intrusion, and ethical investigation principles.
  • Practical curiosity in using AI responsibly to improve investigation efficiency, evidence review, and insight, while maintaining human judgment, confidentiality, and data protection standards.
  • Experience identifying themes, lessons learned, and control weaknesses from investigations and translating these into practical business recommendations that reduce risk and improve ways of working.
  • Appropriate right to work in the UK.
  • Criminal record check required.
