About the Role
In this leadership role, you'll manage a portfolio of audit clients, mentor a growing team, and play an active part in business development. You'll oversee audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring the highest quality outcomes for our clients while managing deadlines, budgets, and team performance.
Responsibilities
- Identify and address technical accounting and audit issues
- Perform reviews of audit work
- Review financial statements to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards and prepare reports and opinions to management
- Summarize key engagement areas for the partner
- Ensure high-quality completion of assignments within budget and deadlines
- Conduct various audit engagements simultaneously with numerous engagement team members
- Negotiate fees with the partner and demonstrate commercial responsibility for client profitability
- Contribute to meetings and make effective presentations to staff and clients
- Assist with management and coordination of the audit team, including training, mentoring, and methodology compliance
- Monitor staffing requirements and future resource planning
- Assist partners in business development and marketing activities
Requirements
- 5-7 years' experience in audit
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong prioritizing skills
- Demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Detailed working knowledge and application of Corporations Act, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards, and other applicable legislation
