About the Role
Seeking an experienced Data Engineer to participate in the estimation, design, development, and testing of data projects. This role involves building data infrastructure, optimizing data pipelines, managing metadata, and defining data management processes to improve data quality.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the estimation of data-related work products.
- Understand functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into system requirements.
- Participate effectively in the design, development, and testing phases of data projects.
- Create data design documents.
- Build data infrastructure for extracting, transforming, and loading data.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and manage metadata.
- Define data management processes to improve data quality.
- Develop and review artifacts, including code, mapping, documentation, monitoring scripts, and unit test scripts.
- Conduct reviews of personal and peer deliverables, perform unit testing, and document unit test results.
- Work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Participate in a learning culture where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution is required. Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in place of each year of education.
- At least 8 years of experience in the IT field.
- At least 4 years of experience in ETL, DWH/BI, and data visualization.
- Japanese nationality or valid work authorization in Japan is welcome.
- Visa sponsorship is not currently available.
- At least 4 years of experience in ETL, DWH/BI, data visualization, AWS/Azure/GCP cloud platforms, Master Data Management (MDM), Snowflake, SQL databases, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
- At least 4 years of experience in the Data and Analytics domain.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to work effectively in a team within a diverse environment involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in a global delivery environment and a desire to work in such an environment.
