About the Role

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Marketing Director. As part of the Marketing team, you will work closely with relevant Project Managers, the Sales team, and other internal stakeholders, including colleagues across our overseas network, to support the planning and execution of marketing communications activities. You will primarily be responsible for marketing communications as part of the various marketing and promotional activities targeting exhibitors and attendees of the exhibitions we organize and manage. Rather than being assigned to a single specific exhibition or sector, you will provide cross-functional leadership for marketing communications across the exhibitions handled by IMJ, while also taking a hands-on role in execution. The position will also involve directing and coordinating external agencies and partners. Depending on the exhibition, the role may also involve collaboration with our overseas network. We value teamwork and collaboration, making this an ideal environment for individuals who can work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute relevant content and messaging to generate exhibitor leads, taking into account the target industry, market trends, and business needs.
  • Develop compelling messaging and content that clearly communicates the value of attending the exhibitions and helps attract high-quality visitors who could become potential business partners for exhibitors.
  • Work closely with project teams to establish the direction and priorities of marketing activities.
  • Monitor the progress of marketing initiatives across project teams and provide support and course correction where necessary.
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of content, messaging, including localization, and brand expression.
  • Lead collaboration with Sales, Project Management, external agencies, and other partners.
  • Share insights and best practices across teams to strengthen the overall Marketing function.
  • Strengthen the brand positioning and value of individual exhibitions and events.
  • Develop and oversee brand messaging, tone of voice, and communication guidelines.
  • Develop campaign concepts, key messages, and creative direction.
  • Ensure consistency of brand communications across channels.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to enhance brand awareness and market positioning.
  • Develop and execute PR and corporate communications initiatives to enhance the visibility and presence of our exhibitions and the company.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee press releases, media content, corporate announcements, and other external communications.
  • Identify relevant industry trends and newsworthy topics and develop communication initiatives around them.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant media, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Gather information from both internal and external sources and develop compelling content and stories for external communications.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in marketing communications, branding, PR, or corporate communications
  • Experience in B2B marketing or B2B communications
  • Proven experience driving projects forward while working with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to develop and adapt messaging and content for different target audiences
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience localizing global content for the Japanese market and adapting it to local business practices and cultural context, rather than simply translating content from English into Japanese
  • Experience managing external advertising agencies, PR agencies, creative agencies, or other external partners
  • Experience using English in a professional/business environment
