About the Role
This role provides essential operational support in ship mooring/unmooring, cargo handling, container cleaning, and quay crane coordination within the DP World CSCT terminal's Yard Operations team. It is suitable for individuals passionate about port logistics operations with a certified dockworker qualification.
Responsibilities
- Perform mooring/unmooring of containers on vessels and quay, installing/removing mooring equipment according to procedures.
- Handle general cargo/CFS operations, including load securing, handling, and mooring of general cargo in the container storage area and CFS warehouse.
- Containerize grains by verifying bulk loading and container tipping installations and assisting/supervising unloading from trucks, barges, or vessels.
- Wash containers using high-pressure jets and perform manual cleaning in storage areas, segregating waste for recycling, and maintaining cleanliness in adjacent areas.
- Guide/coordinate cranes for container handling, stacking, and mooring on board according to the operating plan.
- Handle bulk/grain cargo on conventional/Ro-Ro vessels, including mooring/unmooring cargo, opening/closing holds, cleaning holds, and assisting with equipment lashing/unlashing.
- Handle break bulk (BB), out-of-gauge (OOG) containers, and general cargo on container, conventional, and Ro-Ro vessels, and in storage, ensuring correct load securing.
- Perform lashing of containers/equipment and supervise subcontractor personnel to ensure adherence to procedures and PPE usage.
Requirements
- Completed secondary or general education.
- Certified dockworker qualification.
- Compliance with Technical Prescription PT R1/2010 regarding the obligations and responsibilities of a load binder.
- Previous experience in port logistics operations is an advantage.
