About the Role
We are rethinking homes for how people really live and are looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer to help shape intuitive, high-performing experiences for our customers and teams. Success in this role means improving the customer journey from discovery to post-purchase, creating better tools for internal teams, evolving the design system, improving collaboration with Engineering, mentoring designers, and using AI tools to work smarter.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of customer experiences across web and mobile, from early exploration through to launch and iteration.
- Shape key moments across discovery, product pages, cart, checkout and post-purchase.
- Design internal tools that make life easier for our Operations, Customer Experience, Retail and Fulfilment teams.
- Turn broad or ambiguous problems into clear design opportunities, practical priorities and experiences that can ship.
- Use customer insight, product data and experimentation to inform decisions.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing and Supply Chain to balance customer needs, commercial goals and technical realities.
- Evolve our design system so it is coherent, useful and genuinely adopted.
- Stay close to the details: flows, prototypes, typography, interaction, responsive behavior, accessibility and the final build.
- Lead critiques and design reviews that make the work better.
- Mentor designers through the work, giving them context, honest feedback and the space to develop their own judgement.
- Help set a clear design direction while creating an environment where strong ideas can come from anyone.
- Explore how AI-assisted tools can improve research, prototyping and delivery, while knowing when human judgement matters more.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in product, UX or UI design, with a proven track record of delivering digital products across web and mobile.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, individual contribution and the impact of your work.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills, including typography, layout, imagery, motion and responsive design.
- Experience designing products that support business and user outcomes, such as conversion, revenue, efficiency or error reduction.
- Experience with user research, experimentation and A/B testing.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience building or managing design systems.
- Experience mentoring designers, providing constructive feedback and leading design reviews.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance design quality, business priorities and delivery timelines.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
