About the Role
Family Pride Private Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and caring individuals to join our team as Companions & Homemakers. This is a non-medical position focused on helping clients remain safe, comfortable, independent, and engaged in their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Providing friendly companionship and conversation
- Spending quality time with clients and helping reduce loneliness and isolation
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks
- Grocery shopping and running errands
- Light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping
- Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
- Washing dishes and loading/unloading the dishwasher
- Laundry, folding clothes, and changing bed linens
- Organizing household items and helping maintain a clean, comfortable home
- Providing medication reminders
- Accompanying clients on walks, errands, shopping trips, appointments, and social outings
- Encouraging hobbies, games, conversation, and other activities clients enjoy
- Providing general supervision and companionship for clients experiencing memory loss or dementia
- Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition, behavior, or needs to the appropriate Family Pride team member
- Following each client's individual care plan and Family Pride policies and procedures
Requirements
- No previous caregiving experience required
- No CNA certification required
- Family Pride provides required training and certification
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful
- Enjoys working with seniors and helping others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and an individual client's care plan
- Reliable and committed to scheduled shifts
- Ability to maintain client privacy and confidentiality
- Driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
