About the Role
This role involves managing store operations, leading a team, and ensuring excellent customer service and site standards.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire and train employees, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Develop, manage and assign tasks to ensure the site is clean, adequately stocked, organized and well-kept.
- Maintain a professional and supportive image.
- Schedule employees to maximize customer service and maintain site image.
- Implement non-discriminatory management skills in hiring, training, counseling, motivating, and separating employees.
- Develop positive and professional relationships with suppliers.
- Promote excellent service and resolve customer complaints professionally.
- Promote and ensure a safe, positive public image within the community.
- Prepare and deliver timely performance appraisals with proper feedback.
- Train employees on customer service, site image, marketing execution, and safety procedures.
- Develop communication strategies to ensure employees receive proper communication.
- Establish regular communication meetings with site employees and the Market Manager.
- Evaluate and develop action plans to meet site objectives.
- Organize and maintain all site files and manuals.
- Manage and supervise employees to ensure accurate and timely completion of reports.
- Manage and supervise employees to ensure merchandise is stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly.
- Ensure required employment posters and signs are accessible to employees.
- Analyze daily sales and expense information to maximize sales and net profits.
- Budget and forecast P&L lines, and manage merchandise margins.
- Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed.
- Perform financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits.
- Work indoors, but may be required to work outside for tasks like cleaning parking lots and gas pumps.
- Work with occasional cold temperature extremes when supervising work in walk-in coolers/freezers.
- Work with occasional noise.
- Work with a minimum of direction and supervision.
- Act as an effective manager, supervisor, and leader.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in retail sales preferred.
- Experience to perform the essential duties, responsibilities and working in the conditions described.
- Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools and materials.
- Ability to supervise and manage functions.
- Ability to use computer or acquire necessary skills for site computer use, including analysis of reports, inventory control, cash control, and counseling notices.
- A valid driver’s license and adequate transportation to/from bank and corporate management meetings.
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
