About the Role

Seeking a QA Automation Developer to build automated testing within IT delivery teams. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites, applying AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate delivery and ensure reliable software. The role also includes contributing to application development and CI/CD pipeline work as priorities shift.

Responsibilities

  • Code, prepare, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions across web, mobile, and API, following established scalability patterns and best practices.
  • Build and integrate automation workflows with enterprise and airline systems from proof-of-concept to production.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools as a core part of daily workflow to accelerate framework and test development, refactoring, and debugging, with rigorous validation of AI-generated output.
  • Use AI to investigate suite health, identify flaky tests, quantify regression risk, and prepare reviewer-ready reports of test run signals.
  • Contribute to application codebases alongside developers on targeted testability, reliability, or tooling improvements.
  • Contribute to CI/CD tooling and pipelines beyond test integration, supporting build performance, deployment gates, and pipeline observability.
  • Support test environment work using infrastructure patterns established by the DevOps team, including ephemeral environments and seeded data.
  • Code and prepare observability instrumentation for automated suites so failures surface with actionable context.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT counterparts to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and implement solutions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Launch, support, and prepare improvements for production automation solutions, including troubleshooting, observability instrumentation, and measuring system performance.
  • Prepare automation patterns, code standards, and documentation, and share validated approaches with the team.
  • Research emerging technologies in AI, large language models (LLMs/SLMs), and process automation to identify opportunities that could enhance testing capabilities.
  • Prepare technical materials for business stakeholders on automation technologies and implementation approaches.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and use AI to accelerate ticket refinement, estimation preparation, and retrospective analysis.
  • Actively participate in Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation development, hands-on with at least one modern framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar).
  • Proficiency in a programming or scripting language used for automation (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java).
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, including test case design, defect tracking, and test reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with API test automation using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) for automated testing integration; broader CI/CD pipeline authoring experience is an asset.
  • Working proficiency using AI-assisted engineering tools as part of daily workflow for framework and test development, refactoring, and debugging, while maintaining validation of AI-generated output.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and cloud services (AWS) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support manual testers transitioning to automation.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support automation adoption.
