About the Role
We are hiring our first Product Designer to work closely with engineers, our Product Manager, and the CTO. You will own the entire user experience, from problem definition to visual design, and help engineers build a better product by acting as their design edge.
Responsibilities
- Go on site with inspectors and test designs in the field.
- Own the design of every launch, including empty states.
- Prototype rapidly, using code when beneficial.
- Collaborate closely with engineers during the build process to ensure design accuracy.
- Participate in problem-solving and decision-making with the Product Manager and CTO.
- Build the design system to enable engineers to ship work efficiently.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing shipped products.
- A portfolio showcasing the design process, not just final screens.
- Proficiency in handling mobile design details such as touch targets, offline functionality, and error states.
- Strong opinions on the application of AI in product design.
- Willingness to wear a hard hat to understand field work challenges.
- Experience designing for industrial or field work is a plus.
- Ability to prototype in code is a bonus.
