About the Role
Build reliable, scalable, and intuitive internal enterprise web applications for Extra Space Storage. This role partners closely with product management, operations stakeholders, UX designers, and engineering peers to deliver software powering day-to-day store operations, transactional workflows, document management, and retail systems. The ideal candidate is self-driven, thrives in a collaborative agile environment, and is adept at translating complex operational workflows into high-quality technical solutions using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, scalable APIs, and robust engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Translate operational and business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and reliable solutions across our suite of internal business and store-management platforms.
- Partner closely with product managers, operational stakeholders, and UX designers to create streamlined workflows that improve day-to-day efficiency and user experience for internal teams.
- Participate in technical design, discovery, and architecture planning sessions; document technical designs; evaluate tradeoffs; and ensure alignment with business goals, maintainability, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Extend and modernize core platform capabilities, including integrations with third-party services.
- Ensure technical feasibility and high-fidelity implementation of UI/UX designs, focusing on usability, responsiveness, and speed for high-volume internal operational users.
- Leverage approved AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate routine development, explore implementation strategies, and improve overall team velocity.
- Drive production readiness through automated unit/integration testing, peer code reviews, CI/CD pipeline improvements, observability/monitoring, SLA/SLO adherence, and incident response.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on software development experience building web applications using modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
- Demonstrated experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with enterprise backend services.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum delivery lifecycle.
- Proficiency with modern version control and collaboration workflows using Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on writing clean, modular, and well-tested code.
