About the Role

As Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing new business, nurturing existing accounts, and building lasting client relationships. You’ll confidently sell Hutton Hotel’s distinctive Nashville experience, communicate the value of a premium destination, and turn qualified opportunities into meaningful revenue while supporting the hotel’s rate and revenue objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive group sales across assigned markets with accountability for room nights, room revenue, banquet revenue, and overall production goals.
  • Consistently prospect, build relationships, uncover opportunities, and convert qualified business within assigned market segments.
  • Maintain a primary focus on Midwest and Incentive markets while developing relationships with incentive houses, third-party meeting planners, corporate clients, association executives, and key industry partners.
  • Manage assigned accounts with a focus on retention, account growth, rate growth, and maximizing total account value.
  • Prospect for local and national business, identifying opportunities that align with need periods, revenue objectives, and the hotel’s overall strategy.
  • Position Hutton Hotel as a premium Nashville destination, confidently communicating the property’s distinctive value while protecting rate integrity and profitability.
  • Evaluate opportunities based on dates, room block, rate, banquet spend, and total revenue potential, partnering with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to make sound business decisions.
  • Manage the process from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, contracting, and turnover to the servicing team.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline, conduct consistent prospecting and follow-up, and accurately track account production, sales activity, and future opportunities.
  • Conduct client presentations, site visits, property tours, and relationship-building activities both in person and virtually.
  • Partner with Events, Revenue Management, Marketing, and hotel operations to create a seamless transition from sales to execution—and uncover opportunities for repeat and incremental business.
  • Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and client appointments approximately 3–5 times per year, or as business needs require.
  • Meet or exceed established goals for room nights, room revenue, banquet revenue, and other assigned performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Marriott experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in hotel, resort, destination, group, or hospitality sales.
  • Proven ability to develop new business while retaining and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to communicate and sell the value of a premium destination experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate opportunities based on rate, dates, room nights, banquet spend, and overall revenue potential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Revenue Management and other hotel disciplines to support strategic business decisions.
  • Highly organized with exceptional communication, follow-up, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned accounts, maintain an active sales pipeline, and consistently achieve revenue and production goals.
  • Comfortable working independently in a primarily remote environment while staying connected and engaged with the broader Hutton Hotel team.
  • Experience in Corporate, Association, Incentive, Luxury, or Destination Group Sales is preferred.
  • Must either live in the Nashville area or be relocating to Nashville.
