About the Role
Take on a new challenge and apply your networking and telecommunications expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates. You'll play a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy network and telecom solutions, ensuring alignment with project objectives, milestones, and quality standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, such as System Functional Specifications and Architecture Design Descriptions.
- Perform network maintenance, troubleshooting, and support field activities.
- Design and deploy networks and virtual solutions based on system requirements.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including Interface Control Documents.
- Perform capacity analysis for Communication Networks.
- Use traffic generator and network management tools to meet performance, management, and monitoring objectives.
- Participate in radio and network design, implementation, and test activities.
- Support installation, test, commissioning, and maintenance activities both remotely and in the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunications.
- 5-15 years of experience in a related field.
- P. Eng certification or in progress.
- Knowledge of network hardware, including servers, routers, and other computer devices.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN.
- Experience with network security, policies, and routing protocols (e.g., IP or SR MPLS).
- Hands-on experience with IPsec, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and GIS platforms is a plus.
- CCNP/CCDE/CCIE certifications are desirable.
