About the Role
Kaufman Dolowich, a national law firm, is seeking an attorney for its Insurance Coverage and Litigation Practice in New York. This role offers hands-on experience, client interaction, and mentorship while representing insurance carriers in complex coverage disputes.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Analyze insurance policies and evaluate complex coverage issues
- Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, disclaimer letters, and other coverage-related correspondence
- Litigate insurance coverage matters, including handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic guidance and regular case updates
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex coverage and litigation matters
Requirements
- Admission to practice in New York required
- 2+ years of insurance coverage and/or insurance coverage litigation experience
- Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills
