About the Role
TDIndustries is seeking a skilled Journeyman Sheet Metal Technician to install, fabricate, test, and repair HVAC duct systems and equipment. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality mechanical systems and supporting apprentices, contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and secure sheet metal ductwork, fittings, hangers, and HVAC components.
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and join sheet metal components using various tools and equipment.
- Perform system layout and field coordination, ensuring proper routing and support of duct systems.
- Conduct system testing to verify performance and identify issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety programs and standards.
- Participate in Pre-Task Safety Planning and address safety risks.
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure coordination across teams.
- Provide guidance and technical support to apprentices and less experienced team members.
- Report installation challenges, safety concerns, and quality issues to supervisors.
- Interpret and execute work from blueprints, shop drawings, submittals, and specifications.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; trade school or craft training preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in sheet metal / HVAC construction.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, duct fabrication, and installation best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
- Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards.
