About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape intuitive, trustworthy clinical experiences by collaborating with clinicians, Product, Engineering, and Clinical Safety specialists. This role involves designing for healthcare, challenging established approaches, and exploring new possibilities with a focus on innovation, usability, and clinical safety.
Responsibilities
- Own complex clinical design challenges from discovery through delivery, translating user needs, clinical requirements, and technical constraints into intuitive, accessible solutions.
- Balance innovation with clinical safety by identifying risks, challenging assumptions, and designing safeguards without introducing unnecessary complexity.
- Deliver value iteratively by breaking down complex problems into manageable, valuable increments, balancing speed of delivery with user needs, clinical safety, and long-term product quality.
- Embrace AI and emerging technologies by using AI-assisted tools to accelerate research, exploration, prototyping, and iteration, and identifying opportunities to improve clinical workflows.
- Prototype and experiment using Figma, functional prototypes, and AI-assisted development tools to bring ideas to life, test assumptions, and validate solutions.
- Facilitate collaborative problem-solving by bringing Product, Engineering, and Clinical Safety together to explore opportunities, navigate different perspectives, and reach well-informed decisions.
- Conduct user research through interviews, field visits, and usability testing, translating insights into meaningful product improvements.
Requirements
- High degree of autonomy, independently owning complex design challenges and influencing decisions beyond your immediate workstream.
- Strong design fundamentals combined with sound judgment, curiosity, and a constructive approach to collaboration.
- Proven experience designing clinical systems or similarly high-risk software where errors can have significant consequences.
- Experience working alongside safety, risk, or regulatory specialists.
- Strong UX, interaction, and visual design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating complex workflows, accessible interfaces, and shipped product experiences.
- Ability to explore ambitious solutions while understanding risk, recognising trade-offs, and knowing when a simpler, more predictable approach is appropriate.
- Proven track record of using AI-assisted tools to improve your design workflow, with examples of application in research, exploration, prototyping, or delivery.
- Experience conducting user research, navigating ambiguity, and using evidence to make informed design decisions that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Ability to bring people together, constructively challenge assumptions, welcome different perspectives, and help teams move towards shared decisions.
- Comfortable leading work independently, taking responsibility for outcomes, embracing feedback, and continuously evolving your approach.
