About the Role
The Shames JCC is seeking an energetic, creative, and enthusiastic STEAM Activities Coordinator for its Almost Home after-school program. This role involves bringing science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life through exciting, hands-on activities for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead five engaging, 30-minute STEAM activity rotations daily.
- Develop age-appropriate projects that connect with weekly program themes.
- Supervise and direct support staff during activities.
- Create a fun, safe, positive, and well-organized learning environment.
- Manage activity supplies, preparation, and classroom organization.
- Collaborate with the team on special events and program activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary-aged children.
- Strong interest or background in STEAM education, enrichment, or hands-on learning.
- Creative, organized, dependable, and comfortable leading groups.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and guide supporting staff.
- Must be available consistently Monday-Friday throughout the school year.
- Participation in required staff orientation and training.
