About the Role

Meta is seeking an RSE Technical Domain Manager (TDM) to lead the implementation and deployment of corporate network infrastructure across various facility types. This role requires deep technical expertise, project management skills, and hardware logistics management to drive infrastructure projects from design through delivery, focusing on problem-solving, standards development, and hands-on execution. The TDM will collaborate with internal customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that enhance global connectivity and services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead network infrastructure implementation and deployment for new builds, retrofits, and expansions across office, data center, retail, and POP facilities.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between network engineering, build, connectivity, and design teams.
  • Manage project schedules, dependencies, and milestones for multiple concurrent builds.
  • Drive alignment of network technology milestones with build schedules, tracking and reporting project status.
  • Develop and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals for network build projects.
  • Perform risk and change management on active projects.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop comprehensive network infrastructure design packages tailored to each building type.
  • Apply technology standards throughout the design phase and ensure consistent application across all facility verticals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for MDF/IDF and telecom room design, including rack elevations, power and cooling, pathways, structured cabling, fiber optics, and wireless layouts.
  • Use drafting software to produce and mark up architectural/technology drawings.
  • Influence future facility and network designs for seamless integration and scalability.
  • Consult with Design Engineering/SMEs for non-standard spaces.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure fiber infrastructure management tools accurately reflect design intent.
  • Drive all aspects of network construction and deployment.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership during analysis, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Perform site visits and collaborate with construction teams, architects, and contractors to validate infrastructure builds.
  • Manage onsite integration for new builds and retrofits, resolving roadblocks for technicians and contractors.
  • Perform testing and commissioning handovers.
  • Identify and remedy process gaps with design and build teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
  • Manage the end-to-end hardware procurement lifecycle, including specification, vendor selection, POs, delivery tracking, and warehouse coordination.
  • Own hardware logistics, including inventory management, staging, shipping to site, and ensuring timely material arrival.
  • Coordinate with vendors and supply chain partners to resolve lead time issues, backorders, and hardware substitutions.
  • Order internet and WAN circuits and ensure on-time delivery, tracking through provisioning and installation.
  • Perform logical network bootstrapping functions.
  • Identify operational pain points and opportunities for business practice improvement.
  • Initiate and lead strategic initiatives for efficiency, innovation, and standardization through coding and automation.
  • Maintain technical references, processes, and training documentation.
  • Provide day-to-day project coordination and quality assurance for active deployments.
  • Travel up to 50% based on project demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of work experience designing and deploying large-scale Office/Data Center network infrastructure.
  • Deep working knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise and provider level network hardware platforms (IP and Optical).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including design and installation best practices, industry standards, applications, and limitations.
  • Knowledge of data center/office building architecture and network design, construction, and start-up/commissioning processes.
  • Experience driving cross-functional collaboration across technical teams through infrastructure project lifecycles.
  • Track record of identifying infrastructure challenges, defining actionable plans, and delivering solutions within scope and schedule.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience delivering network infrastructure projects in diverse facility types (data centers, corporate offices, retail/commercial spaces).
  • Experience ordering and tracking carrier circuits through to delivery for new sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
  • Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationships through project completion.
  • Knowledge of inside/outside plant cable design, dark fiber builds, and structured cabling for new construction.
  • Experience owning schedule, budget, and vendor accountability across a portfolio of concurrent builds.
