About the Role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer serves to design HVAC systems for buildings such as K-12 schools, retail/mixed-use spaces, and commercial spaces.

Responsibilities

Design HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handling units, ductwork, piping and controls.
Develop mechanical system design calculations.
Perform QA/QC design work.
Lead a project team and managing projects.
Coordinate with Owners and Architects.
Complete code compliance research.
Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Produce mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
Perform field investigations.
Coordinate quality control, scheduling, and programming.
Coordinate and communicate information and progress with all three disciplines (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).

Requirements

Demonstrated facilitation experience.
10 years of experience in HVAC design and construction.
Solid understanding of duct design, piping design, air handlers, chiller, and boiler systems.
Experience with performing load calculations, equipment selection and design, wet and dry side system design.
Knowledge of CBC, CMC and CPC codes, DDC controls, Title 24, HAP or Energy Pro.
Experience with complex institutional projects.
Familiarity with codes, standards and design guidelines.
