About the Role
Canada Rocket Company is building the infrastructure for engine firing and rocket construction. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across all CRC sites, managing everything from utility service to equipment power. This is a founding, hands-on role within a lean design team, where you will set the electrical direction, make technical decisions, review and seal work, and support it through construction and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of power distribution end-to-end, including utility service, MV/LV switchgear, transformers, standby generation, and UPS.
- Conduct and maintain load, short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies.
- Lead the design of hazardous-location electrical installations.
- Lead the design of grounding, bonding, and lightning protection for test, launch, and manufacturing infrastructure.
- Provide power and controls interfaces for test, process, and facility systems.
- Review and seal drawings, specifications, and permit packages for the electrical discipline.
- Provide technical direction and review for the design team's electrical work from concept through detailed design.
- Collaborate with utilities, ESA inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction on electrical approvals.
- Support construction through RFIs, submittals, site reviews, commissioning, and as-builts.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering.
- P.Eng with PEO, active, with a track record of sealing electrical design packages.
- 7+ years of electrical design experience for industrial, heavy-industrial, or energy facilities.
- Working command of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, CSA Z462, and hazardous-location classification.
- Hands-on use of power system analysis software.
- Able to work on-site at our Toronto facility, with regular travel to test, launch, and factory sites.
- Comfortable in a startup environment where process is still being built.
