About the Role
The Service Technician will troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, performing repairs on a wide variety of heavy diesel, gas, and electrically operated construction equipment. This role involves everything from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs, diagnosing operational difficulties, and rebuilding components.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair heavy diesel, gas and electrically operated construction equipment.
- Perform repairs ranging from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters.
- Diagnose operational difficulties; disassemble and reassemble equipment, replacing defective parts.
- Check pressures, voltage and flow to identify the source(s) of equipment problems.
- Rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps.
- Prepare parts requisitions and enter them into the Company’s computer system.
- Perform heating, brazing, soldering, burning and minor welding not requiring certified welding skills.
- Document work orders, track repair progress, and order parts using Anderson’s systems.
- Maintain focus on safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers.
- Ownership of adequate hand tools.
