About the Role

We are seeking an AI-first Design Engineer who blends strong technical skills with a deep understanding of product design, UX, and usability. This hybrid role operates at the intersection of design and engineering, focusing on complex, data-rich enterprise software. You will leverage modern AI tools to rapidly prototype, iterate, and deliver intuitive product experiences, building upon an established AI-first design system and contributing to faster, iterative product development.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and ship product experiences by translating complex business requirements and user needs into intuitive, functional solutions.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on new features using AI-powered tools, ensuring early user feedback on working solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and domain experts to guide ideas from concept to implementation.
• Balance usability, technical feasibility, and speed of delivery, making informed decisions on iteration versus shipping.
• Design for complex, data-heavy workflows where clarity, efficiency, and accuracy are paramount.
• Utilize AI tools such as Claude, Figma, and MCP integrations as a core part of the design and development workflow.
• Experiment with emerging AI technologies, agents, and workflows to enhance product development processes.
• Apply sound design and engineering judgment to AI-generated outputs, ensuring quality, usability, and consistency.
• Contribute to and build upon the existing AI-first design system, ensuring product consistency and scalability.
• Understand and apply design system principles, including components, design tokens, spacing, layouts, accessibility, and interaction patterns.
• Identify opportunities to improve components, documentation, and AI-assisted design workflows.
• Collaborate with users and internal stakeholders to understand problems, validate ideas, and gather feedback.
• Adopt a lean, iterative approach to product development, prioritizing early validation.
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure designs are technically achievable and efficiently implementable.
• Continuously refine solutions based on user feedback, technical constraints, and evolving business needs.

Requirements

• A hybrid design and engineering background with hands-on coding capabilities.
• Strong understanding of UX, UI, and usability principles.
• Experience using modern AI tools as an integral part of your workflow.
• Genuine interest in AI-assisted design, prototyping, and development.
• Strong systems thinking, with an understanding of scalable design systems, reusable components, and technical frameworks.
• Experience contributing to design systems, including knowledge of design tokens, component libraries, accessibility, and established UI patterns.
• Experience working directly with codebases, GitHub, and modern frontend technologies.
• Experience designing or building complex, data-dense B2B SaaS, enterprise, or workflow-driven products.
• Experience working in a startup or scaleup environment with evolving priorities and lean teams.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to balance user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints.
• A curious, adaptable mindset with enthusiasm for experimenting with emerging technologies and new ways of working.
• Experience in fintech, tax technology, compliance, or other complex, regulated industries (Nice to Have).
• Exposure to both early-stage startups and larger, more established software organizations (Nice to Have).
• Must show proof of eligibility to work in the country (visa sponsorship not provided).
