About the Role
As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical lead on strategic accounts across the UK & Ireland, shaping complex solutions from initial conversation to deal closure. You will also mentor other SEs, enable partners, and represent Extreme in the market.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy for complex deals across enterprise, public sector, healthcare, education, and CNI.
- Design end-to-end solutions across fabric, wireless, SD-WAN, security, and cloud management.
- Lead RFP and tender responses, including public sector frameworks, PoCs, and demonstrations.
- Present with impact to various levels, from engineering teams to CIO and board level.
- Build trusted relationships with customers and partners, and advocate for them internally.
- Mentor SEs, lead partner and MSP enablement, and act as account technical lead when needed.
- Travel is required, mainly across the UK and Ireland.
Requirements
- Typically 7+ years in networking pre-sales with a record of closing large, complex deals.
- Deep knowledge of L2/3 switching, IPv4/v6 routing, fabric and overlays (SPB, VXLAN/EVPN), Wi-Fi design, and network security.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong hands-on lab and PoC experience.
- Tenacity, ownership, and a customer-first mindset.
