About the Role

The RFP Associate Editor plays a lead role in supporting T. Rowe Price’s sales and client-retention objectives in Japan by independently leading the development and delivery of Japanese-language Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs). This role collaborates with various departments to position the firm accurately and persuasively, developing high-quality Japanese responses by localizing approved English content and drafting Japan-specific content where required. The role works independently, leads projects, and provides guidance to less-experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of Japanese-language RFPs, RFIs and DDQs, understanding client needs and articulating the firm’s strengths.
  • Coordinate stakeholders for proposal delivery, including identifying subject matter experts, agreeing deadlines, and ensuring content review and approval.
  • Mentor RFP Specialists and other less-experienced team members where appropriate.
  • Own the quality and development of Japanese RFP content in Responsive and other approved repositories.
  • Select, localize, draft, edit and maintain responses based on approved global content, ensuring product alignment, consistent terminology, content governance and relevance to the Japanese market.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects from planning through final delivery, including prioritization, dependencies, content integration, quality control, risk escalation and record keeping.
  • Improve proposal processes, library content and standards for Japanese drafting and localization.
  • Use approved technology, AI and automation responsibly to improve quality, consistency and efficiency while maintaining required review and approval controls.
  • Lead complex proposals across multiple products and services.
  • Support RFP Editors on the largest, most complex or fully customized proposals.

Requirements

  • University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in RFPs, institutional investment, asset management, financial writing or a related discipline.
  • Experience in proposal development, Japanese content creation and editing, project ownership and stakeholder management.
  • Experience independently leading deadline-driven RFP, RFI or DDQ projects across multiple investment products or services.
  • Native or near-native Japanese writing and editing capability.
  • Ability to draft clear, accurate and persuasive responses and localize complex English investment content without changing the approved meaning.
  • Business-level English communication skills sufficient to work effectively in a US-headquartered global asset management firm.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with global stakeholders in meetings, emails and discussions.
  • In-depth knowledge of investment products and services, institutional portfolio concepts, and the qualitative and quantitative information commonly required in Japanese proposals.
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with senior subject matter experts and client-facing professionals.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and deadline dependencies.
  • Strong analytical and editorial judgment.
  • Ability to assess content and data for accuracy, relevance and consistency, identify gaps and escalate material risks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, lead projects or work streams, and provide guidance to colleagues with less experience.
  • Sound understanding of business technology and the responsible use of approved AI and automation tools, while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy and review controls.
  • Direct experience developing Japanese-language RFPs or DDQs within the investment management industry (Preferred).
  • Experience maintaining Japanese content in an RFP repository, ideally Responsive, including content governance and review cycles (Preferred).
  • Experience in translation, localization or financial writing involving complex investment concepts and approved English-language source material (Preferred).
  • Experience contributing to proposal-process improvement, content standards, or responsible AI and automation initiatives (Preferred).
