About the Role
This role supports multiple areas within Research & Discovery, focusing on building visualizations, transforming data, capturing data, and supporting end users. It involves participating in data flow documentation and general requirement gathering, acting as a cross-functional liaison between discovery scientists and technology stakeholders to optimize data capture, visualization, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with scientific individuals from Discovery teams to understand existing workflows and data flow & gather requirements.
- Design and implement technology solutions that integrate, visualize, and analyze complex multi-platform data, including omics, biomarkers, & preclinical safety.
- Understand the value in capturing data properly and integrating data sets.
- Work directly with scientists to support their dashboarding or technical needs.
- Demonstrate high proficiency in python, SQL, & other technologies for data storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analytics.
- Ability to work on multiple, sometimes very different, projects at one time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Background in life sciences, biology, or equivalent required.
- Dedicated team player who can interface with discovery scientists and IT partners.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python (and possibly other modern languages) and strong familiarity with data visualization and pipelining tools such as Spotfire, or equivalent.
- Understanding of software development process and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration & training, including documenting and presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders: outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with modern data science and AI techniques & interest in further developing technical skills and scientific knowledge.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and work within timelines.
- A self-motivated learner and thinker with a hands-on approach.
