About the Role
This is the first marketing hire at a seed-funded AI search startup. The role involves building the marketing function from the ground up, defining its strategy, and driving growth through experimentation across various channels. You will work closely with sales and report to the founding team, with significant autonomy and access to founders.
Responsibilities
- Build the marketing function from zero to one across multiple channels
- Own paid acquisition, LinkedIn, social and user-generated content, and event marketing
- Design and run experiments to find the channels that work, and kill the ones that do not
- Partner with sales to build and qualify top of funnel
- Establish the measurement and reporting that tells the team what is actually working
- Operate autonomously with direct founder access
Requirements
- Three to ten years of marketing experience, weighted toward demonstrable channel-building results rather than years served
- Startup marketing background, with a clearly successful outcome you can point to
- Track record developing and executing growth marketing strategy across multiple channels, not a single specialty
- Data-driven approach to channel testing and measurement
- Ability to work autonomously and set your own priorities
- Comfortable working onsite in New York six days per week
- Genuine interest in the AI space (Bonus)
- Agency experience with a strong multi-client track record (Bonus)
