About the Role
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Skilled Nursing LVN. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care to residents in a 24-hour operation.
- Delegates and supervises the care provided by nursing assistants.
- Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures.
- Obtains specimens as needed.
- Completes documentation as required.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion in assisting in the daily operation of the nursing department.
- Assures that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.
Requirements
- Licensed Vocational Nurse with a current State of Texas license.
- Must be able to read regulations and write clearly.
- Must be able to communicate in a courteous, friendly manner.
- Must be able to evaluate and make decisions in emergency situations such as fire, tornado, and other disasters.
- Must be capable of functioning independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
- Possesses the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies/personnel and the general public in all circumstances.
- Must report for duty at the scheduled time.
- Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.
