About the Role
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Janitor for our resident facilities. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and periodic cleaning of common or non-residential areas according to prescribed standards and guidelines.
- Tasks include floor care (vacuuming, extracting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing and spotting), trash removal, elevator cleaning, high and low dusting, cleaning of walls and other surfaces as assigned.
- Polices grounds for trash and removes trash from facilities.
- Washes windows, provides resident assistance with carrying baggage, cleans resident carpets and may assist housekeeper in resident homes.
- Provides support for cleanup of leaks, spills, floods, fire, etc.
- Maintains work area and keeps the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Demonstrates community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
- May be required to assist with move-in preparation, moving furniture, appliances, and other items.
Requirements
- Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8 hour workday.
- Preferred minimum experience of 1-3 years in housekeeping, preferably in a hospitality or health care environment.
