About the Role
Goodwill Central Texas is seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL driver to transport goods that support life-changing programs and services. This role is crucial for fueling education, job training, and employment opportunities within the community.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A tractor trailer across designated routes
- Load, secure, and protect cargo, including donations, retail goods, and raw materials
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with dispatch
- Complete all required paperwork, including vehicle logs and inspection reports
- Conduct daily maintenance checks and report any issues promptly
- Uphold all safety and operational protocols
- Represent Goodwill Central Texas with professionalism and customer service excellence
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid Texas Class A CDL
- Must have a current DOT Medical Card
- Proven ability to operate a tractor trailer safely and efficiently
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand, bend, and twist for up to 8 hours
- Must be comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environments
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and road test
- Employment is contingent upon a background check
