About the Role
Protiviti is seeking an experienced Associate Director to build and lead the Security of AI practice within the Cybersecurity & Resilience team. This role involves addressing critical AI security challenges for organizations deploying AI, including threat modeling, governance, red teaming, model integrity, and data security.
Responsibilities
- Lead Security of AI engagements, including AI risk assessments, threat modeling for LLM-integrated applications, agentic system security reviews, red team exercises, and governance program design.
- Shape and advance Protiviti's Security of AI service offerings by evolving methodology, tooling, and delivery accelerators.
- Develop the practice by recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent, and coaching managers and senior consultants.
- Build Protiviti's external presence in AI security through thought leadership, publications, speaking engagements, and industry participation.
Requirements
- 7+ years in cybersecurity with depth in security architecture, AI/ML security, application security, cloud security, or security consulting.
- Direct experience with AI security risks such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model inversion, ML pipeline supply chain threats, agentic system access control, or LLM-integrated application security.
- Familiarity with emerging AI security and governance landscapes including OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI RMF, MITRE ATLAS, EU AI Act, and sector-specific AI risk guidance.
- Track record of owning client relationships and managing multi-workstream engagements.
- Strong communication skills to explain AI risk to various stakeholders.
- Experience leading and developing teams of consultants and senior consultants.
