About the Role
As a leader in Electrical Engineering, you will guide a growing team of construction managers, technicians, and installers. You will focus on personnel development, capacity planning, and onboarding new team members. This role involves acting as a technical escalation point and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with VDE standards. You will also develop processes and standards, support the introduction of digital tools, and assist management with technical assessments and calculations.
Responsibilities
- Disciplinary and technical leadership of a growing team of construction managers, technicians, and installers in electrical engineering.
- Personnel development: employee reviews, goal agreements, assessments, career paths, and training planning for your team.
- Capacity and deployment planning of your employees across all ongoing projects in close coordination with project managers.
- Recruiting, onboarding, and retention of new colleagues; active participation in recruiting (interviews, technical selection).
- Technical escalation point for complex technical issues; act as a sparring partner for your construction managers, not project manager yourself.
- Ensuring quality, work safety, and compliance with VDE standards across all projects through standards, training, and spot checks, not through own project management.
- Development and continuous improvement of structures, processes, and technical standards in the electrical sector (work instructions, checklists, quality criteria).
- Participation in the introduction of digital tools and modern working methods, and ensuring that your team actively uses them.
- Occasional support for management and project managers in technical evaluation, offer preparation, and calculation.
Requirements
- Completed training as an electrician with further training as a master craftsman or technician, or comparable qualification.
- Several years of leadership experience in the electrical trade or in electrical plant construction, ideally as a foreman, construction manager with personnel responsibility, branch manager, or operations manager.
- Demonstrable experience in the disciplinary leadership of larger teams (10+ employees), including hiring, development, and potential termination.
- Sound knowledge of VDE standards, relevant regulations, and common construction processes in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- True leadership personality: provide direction, develop people, and create commitment with empathy and clarity.
- Entrepreneurial thinking, hands-on mentality, and a desire to help build structures in a rapidly growing company.
- Fluent German, English is an advantage.
