About the Role

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in our General Insurance team, you'll work alongside a close-knit group of colleagues helping a range of general insurers, health insurers and government agencies solve complex business challenges. No two weeks look the same. You could be helping a client deliver a transformation project, undertaking a pricing review, performing a year-end valuation, supporting an audit or working on a due diligence. You'll join a highly collaborative team and become part of a broad network of early-career professionals across EY. Whether it's learning from colleagues, teaming on client work, supporting volunteering activities, attending social events or building your professional network, you'll be part of a community that supports your growth both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement actuarial models and methodologies and critically analyse and interpret data to uncover insights for informed decision-making.
  • Develop your skills across a variety of projects from business transformation, capital and risk management, pricing, and product innovation to liability valuation and appointed actuary work.

  • Champion continuous improvement and shape the next generation of processes, tools, and analytical approaches.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the broader Financial Services practice, including strategy, transactions, tax, technology and professionals.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
  • Completed, or progressing towards, a professional actuarial qualification (e.g., FIAA).
  • 1 to 4 years of professional experience in an actuarial role.
  • Experience with valuation, programming, and AI/GenAI would be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and analytical or programming tools such as SAS, R or Python.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships and explain complex information clearly to non-specialists.
  • An ability to navigate complexity and adapt in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
  • A commitment to staying current with market, legislative and regulatory developments and contributing to thought leadership.
  • Talented professionals who combine technical excellence with curiosity, commercial thinking and a passion for making a difference.
