About the Role

As Weave's Field CTO, you'll be the technical face of Weave in the market, acting as a developer advocate, executive advisor, and keynote speaker. You will represent Weave at global conferences, build trust with CTOs and VPs of Engineering, and influence industry perspectives on measuring engineering in the AI era. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape how millions of engineers and leaders understand engineering work.

Responsibilities

  • Be Weave's face in the field, including keynotes, conference talks, panels, meetups, podcasts, and conventions.
  • Build and run our field presence, determining where we appear and ensuring each appearance is impactful.
  • Advise engineering executives, serving as a trusted, vendor-neutral advisor to CTOs and VPs of Engineering during evaluations, POCs, and post-deal.
  • Partner with sales to provide executive air cover on strategic deals and translate Weave's capabilities into executive-level narratives.
  • Incorporate field feedback into product development by relaying insights from engineering leaders to sharpen the product roadmap.
  • Build and cultivate lasting relationships with engineering leaders to foster customers, champions, and friends of Weave.
  • Be flexible to handle diverse tasks, from keynoting conferences to whiteboarding with a customer's CTO or writing content to drive meetings.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in software engineering, including senior technical leadership roles such as CTO, VP of Engineering, Deputy/Field CTO, or head of a platform or developer productivity organization.
  • Deep, lived expertise in developer productivity, with informed opinions on DORA, SPACE, and DevEx, and their limitations in the AI era.
  • Exceptional writing skills, producing posts, research, or essays with sharp thinking and an engaged audience.
  • Executive credibility, capable of earning calls, advice, and recognition from CTOs.
