About the Role

As Weave's Founding Developer Advocate, you'll be the voice of Weave to the engineers who use it. This role combines engineering, writing, and community building, focusing on the open-source Weave Router, educational content, and fostering a developer community. This is a unique opportunity to influence how millions of engineers and leaders understand engineering work.

Responsibilities

  • Build in public by shipping demos, integrations, plugins, and sample projects on top of Weave and the Weave Router.
  • Own the Weave Router community, including issues, PRs, releases, documentation, and contributors.
  • Write technical content such as deep dives, tutorials, benchmarks, and integration guides.
  • Own the developer experience by ensuring integrations take minutes and fixing rough edges in docs, SDKs, and installers.
  • Engage with engineers at meetups, hackathons, livestreams, podcasts, X, and Hacker News.
  • Feed community insights back into product development to sharpen the roadmap.
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to provide technical firepower for launches and credibility in deals.
  • Be flexible to handle diverse tasks including shipping plugins, recording demos, triaging issues, and debugging customer configurations.

Requirements

  • Must be an engineer who has shipped production code and continues to write it weekly.
  • Must write exceptionally well, creating useful content for engineers.
  • Must have experience building an audience or community on platforms like X, YouTube, newsletters, Discord, or open-source projects.
  • Must actively use AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex daily.
